I submitted a t-shirt design called “regeneration” to Threadless.com to be voted on and hopefully printed.
If I get enough high scores the shirt will be printed and sold from the site and I will win some lovely prizes. Take a look at it and if you like it, sign up and give it a [...]

West Highland Way - The Journey Home

After checking out of the Bank Street Lodge this morning we walked around the corner to the grassy area in front of the church at the centre of Fort William to sit in the sun while we waited for our lunchtime train back to Glasgow. To kill some time, we took it in turns to [...]

West Highland Way - Day 7

We woke up this morning in the Macdonald Hotel cabins to another gloriously sunny day. After showering and packing our bags we headed over to the hotel for breakfast. Back at the cabins, Gregor regretted going for the full Scottish.

While Gail discovered what happens when you wear tubigrips in hot weather.

All packed up and ready [...]

West Highland Way - Day 6

We woke up this morning at the Kings House Hotel feeling a bit fuzzy-headed after the hi-jinks last night. We went down for a great breakfast including porridge, which was presided over by a (female) Roger Moore lookie-likie. Unfortunately none of us were brazen enough to take a photo!
Back upstairs I checked on the rash [...]

West Highland Way - Day 5

This morning we headed up to the main Bridge of Orchy Hotel from the bunkhouse in good spirits for our breakfast. We were well over halfway now, and I was pleased to see the rash on my legs improving after a couple of applications of hydrocortisone cream.
After breakfast we picked up our packed lunches from [...]

West Highland Way - Day 4

We were up bright and early this morning, getting ourselves ready for the day ahead. Gail went for a shower, and a cry of “aiyah!” was heard as she bent over and burnt her arse on the super-heated towel rail. Served her right for being smug yesterday! We went next door to the main house [...]

West Highland Way - Day 3

This morning Bruce told us that he didn’t want to carry on walking as his blisters were causing him real problems. After breakfast at the Inversnaid Bunkhouse he got a lift with Marion down to the Inversnaid Hotel, a ferry across to Inveruglas, and a bus to Glasgow. It was a shame to see him [...]

West Highland Way - Day 2

We all met up for breakfast bright and early at the Oak Tree Inn, feeling refreshed after a good night’s sleep. The longest day was behind us, so everyone was feeling positive on this, one of the shorter days. We saw the guy from AMS this morning, and he told us that the weather forecast [...]
