Andy Sweet is a freelance eyewear designer in Scotland

In 2000 I won Dollond & Aitchison’s Student Spex competition, designing a pair of optical frames to celebrate their 250th anniversary. This inspired me to pursue a career in eyewear design, and I started my own business.

From 2002 my main client was the Norwegian company WeNeverSleep (now Flo Scandinavia). Between 2006 and 2008 I was their full-time designer, responsible for designing Bruuns Bazaar’s optical and sunglasses collections, sunglasses for H&M’s COS stores, and sports-fashion sunglasses collections for the Norwegian skier Kari Traa. My last involvement was on the 2009 collections for Bruuns Bazaar, COS and some other Swedish brands.

In July 2008 I returned to freelance work, and have since worked on projects for Kameleon, OPO Design, Foval, Danish Eyewear, and Götti.
